The Birth of a Father
by Heather Huber
Jennifer* had already made and cancelled two appointments with Planned Parenthood. She scheduled a third appointment,
but wouldn’t make it to that one either. Why? Simply because she received a complimentary sonogram on Community Mobile Sonogram (CMS).
Like many of our clients, her situation was complicated, but Jennifer didn’t really want an abortion and knew that if she
could see a sonogram, she would choose life. She had tried, unsuccessfully, to schedule a sonogram with several places. Finally,
she found CMS online. One providential Thursday afternoon, she showed up with the father of the baby, Jonathan*.

They viewed the sonogram together and were astonished to find two seven-week fetuses with hearts beating rapidly at 142 beats per minute.
The new father exclaimed, “I always wanted a big family, but didn’t realize I would start with two!” Soon after the sonogram, Jonathan
received another gift. An eternal gift. The gift of salvation. With a sonogram photo in one hand and a Bible in the other, he left with
new purpose and a new life! In less than an hour on CMS, a father was born and born again. (Jonathan not pictured)

Appreciation dinner dollars put toward client services
It is with regret that we write to announce that we are unable to host our annual Appreciation Dinner for donors and volunteers this fall.
Although our gratefulness for your support and personal sacrifices could not be greater, after an examination of our budget and the uncertain economic times we find ourselves in, we know you would want us to put those dollars toward client services, which is what we have done.
"We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give."
–Winston Churchill

In terms of fundraising, we are more than 20 percent below where we need to be to meet our budget by year’s end. This includes the additional costs incurred with Community Mobile Sonogram.
Please know how much we appreciate what you choose to do each day for those in our community through Prestonwood Pregnancy Center.
The value of a life cannot be measured! Already this year, you have saved 48 lives in addition to the 68 clients who have accepted eternal life.
Your commitment to life makes us smile with proud hearts about what we are able to do together!
We pray God’s richest blessing in your life.

PPC looking for a bilingual receptionist
Our former receptionist, Dalila, is off to China on a new adventure with her husband, Pete, to teach English, which means we are
looking to add a new member to the PPC staff.
Because we serve a 36 percent Hispanic client population, we prefer to hire a full-time receptionist who is fluent in both Spanish
and English. Other qualifications we are looking for include:
- Strong, pleasant communication and telephone skills
- Mid-level computer and organizational skills
- Willingness to meet with clients
- Self-motivated and responsible
- Detail-oriented

Support PPC by shopping at Kroger
Much like what we do with Tom Thumb, Kroger has a Neighbor to Neighbor program that allows you to donate a percentage of what
you spend on groceries to the charity of your choice. All you need to do is click on the following link,
www.krogerneighbortoneighbor.com/pdf/10000084025.pdf.
Then, print the letter with Prestonwood Pregnancy Center’s charity barcode and present it to your cashier the next time you check
out with your Kroger Plus card. You will only need to do this once until June 2010.

Did You Know?
Every person who contacts a government entity about an issue is said to represent 1,000 people.
There are many issues arising within the pro-life movement weekly, as the current administration works to overturn the hundreds of laws and
regulations that the Bush Administration put into place.
Many pro-life websites have free e-newsletters that you can subscribe to in order to stay on top of current events. Some will direct you
to act upon legislation by simply using a pre-written letter to a government entity, (e.g., your senator). This is a simple, yet effective way
to express your views to those who help create our laws.
